2021-2022
DECA has been given the amazing opportunity to work with the school in breaking a world record! We will be donating cereal boxes to the Place of Forsyth, but we have a special twist on this project. We will be setting up all of the boxes into a big domino chain here at South to break the current world record! More information on getting involved will be out soon!
We are South Forsyth DECA, the second largest DECA chapter in the world! Established in 1997, we’ve grown to offer a vast variety of opportunities for our 1300+ members. Our students put their marketing skills to the test by consulting with local businesses, completing internships, engaging in community service projects, and competing against marketing students from around the world.
DECA’s competitive events program directly supports our mission. As an integral part of the classroom curriculum, DECA’s industry-validated competitive events are aligned with the National Curriculum Standards in the career clusters of marketing, business management and administration, finance, and hospitality and tourism. DECA's flagship evaluation process involves students in both a written component such as an exam or report and an interactive component with an industry professional serving as a judge. DECA’s competitive events directly contribute to every student being college and career ready when they graduate from high school. Students compete at the regional, state, and international levels.

A major part of our chapter are our annual community service projects. Georgia DECA’s 2021-2022 Community Service Project is partnered with Reach out and Read Georgia. This year, we plan on contributing to their initiative along with our other charity pursuits. These include our annual Prom Fashion Show and chapter projects.
When you think about DECA you most likely think about marketing, competition, and community service, but there is so much more to it than that. Throughout the year we host numerous events such as our annual DECA Tailgate, the DECA Prom Fashion Show, Chapter meetings, and our monthly DECA Socials. All of which are great ways for our members to get involved with our chapter.
